There’s been much speculation over who would be cast as Scarlet Witch in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron with rumors originally pegging Saoirse Ronan for the role. Later those rumors favored Elizabeth Olsen, but now we know for sure thanks to Samuel L. Jackson. In a recent Wall Street Journal interview he revealed,
“I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Olsen is the younger sister to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and this will be a big break for the actress. She’s appeared in several indie films and has lead roles in the upcoming Oldboy and Godzilla, but her Avengers role will be her biggest film yet.
